I HAVE THE SAME CRAPPY PROBLEM, PLUS IT WON'T STOP RUNNING. IT IS VERY HARD TO CANCEL IT. I SPENT MONEY FOR WHAT?

There is no sense in using the "iReader Comments Feed" (above) if it doesn't work!

    Hi

I bought Readr on my Mac Pro. Just got a mac mini and did a migration. Readr now does this "An error occurred while saving" thing on my Mac Mini. Perhaps a clue?

This thread is quite old. Is an update coming? I quite like Readr, for what it's worth. :)

    Thank you
    Stefan

    Hi,

I just deleted my "~/Library/Containers/com.halfbit.ireader/" folder and now it all seems to be working properly again.

    Thanks
    Stefan

    Any word on this?

I'm spending about half an hour a day just clicking OK to these errors. Readr is great, but it's unusable at the moment. I have to close the app most of the time before it's done because of how frustrating it is.

Have you disabled Google Reader in the preferences?

    Hi James,

Not sure if you are looking for debugging aids, or giving a hint or even if the email is sent to me and the person that replied to my reply, but here's what I have observed:

I have never used google reader. In preferences, Sync with Google reader is not checked.

After my restore from Time Machine (Mac Pro old, mac mini new)- if I use readr on the Mini, after one time deleting "~/Library/Containers/com.halfbit.ireader/", everything is fine. If I start my Mac Pro (and readr auto-starts there) then the Pro will keep giving an error about being unable to sync results (haven't used the Pro for a bit and it's not even connected anymore so I can't tell the exact error message - but it's not the initial error of the thread about saving). What appears to happen is that running more than one copy of readr will cause grief, even thpugh I have no idea how that interaction could happen?

That's all I have. As long as I run it only on the mini, it performs beautifully.

I have a quick request - it would be great if readr remembered the state of "View". I always use "Unread Items" but readr defaults back to "All Items" on a restart.

    Thank you
    Stefan

    Hi James,

I am not sure if halfbit still exists or this mail will ever reach anyone. I am a Readr user and I am very happy with it. On Yosemite though I cannot go into the preferences - the app crashes. I had to blow away the folder again, as stated below, after the upgrade to Yosemite (and maybe iCloud Drive?). Now I don’t get the unread article count in the icon, which I liked. Is there an option I can add to a plist file, maybe to get this feature back since I can’t see if it’s an option in preferences?

    All the best,
    Stefan

    Hi,

WRT the badge icons in my post above, I found out what I was looking for. Just posting here in case anyone else comes along and finds this.

I did the following 2 things in terminal as that's what I would have done in Preferences. The first adds the badge icons for unread count back and the second keeps the app window closed on launch.

    defaults write com.halfbit.ireader showsUnreadBadge YES
    defaults write com.halfbit.ireader startupHideWindow YES

    Thanks
    Stefan
